What's going on here?
Globally prices were near enough flat in 2023 vs 2022, only rising 0.3%, but big variations exist by geography.
Tell me more
In 2023 the median price for collector vehicles (built pre-2000) stood at £23,436 that's only just above the £23,368 we saw the year previous.
That headline masks the truth though.
Let's analyse the EU, UK and US more closely.
The EU for the second year running has seen the largest percentage and absolute price gains, with prices up 9% in the past 12 months.
The US saw prices rise 3% in the past 12 months.
However, the slackers in the UK have let the side down. Prices were down 3% in the past 12 months.
Perhaps that's just a blip?
Wrong.
Prices have fallen in 5 of the last 6 years in Blighty.
Compare that to the US where prices have risen in 5 out of the last 6 years.
To find out more on how these price trend changes evolve by vehicle age, type etc you'll have to wait till our 2023 Year In Review publication is released (not long now).
Superb work and analysis. Hearty congratulations to all who worked hard on this. A very interesting and worthwhile read
