TCV SCORE EXPLAINED
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
There are 5 separate categories all judged on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 is the worst. 10 is the best.

The TCV Score is calculated by summing the individual category scores and multiplying by 2.

The highest possible score is 100.

Each category is explained below.
WHERE'S THE DATA SOURCED FROM?
The data is sourced from our community of users providing their own reviews, feedback and comments on the cars in questions.

It's important to note that each car is judged against all other cars, not just its segment, that's important as ratings aren't relative but absolute.

STYLING
How does the car look?

If it's ugly as hell it gets a 1.

If it's fine, but nothing special, it gets a 5.

If it's one of the most beautiful cars in the world it gets a 10.
COOL FACTOR
How likely are you to say that's ****ing cool if you saw it in the street?

If you'd see it and were violently sick, it's a 1.

If you'd take a pic and send it to a mate, it's a 7.

If you'd spend the next 15 minutes sniffing it and you dreamed about it that night, it's a 10.
PRACTICALITY
How liveable is this car on a day to day basis?

If it's highly unlikely to start each time you go to the garage and you couldn't fit a mouse in it, it's a 1.

If you'd drive it happily on the weekends, it's a 6.

If you'd happily daily drive this car and you could fit everything you needed to in it, it's a 10.
HANDLING SPEED
How does the car handle?

Those cars that genuinely feel dangerous to drive score a 1.

Those cars that feel safe but at least are stable score a 4.

Those that tick all the boxes score a 10.
SPEED
A combination of acceleration and top speed.

A Benz Motorwagen maxes out at 10 mph, and, well, doesn't get to 60 mph so would score a 1.

A Jaguar XK120 goes 0 - 60 mph in 9+ seconds and tops out at 120 mph, that's fine for everyday driving so would score a 6.

A McLaren F1 goes from 0 - 60 mph in 3.1 seconds and tops out at 240 mph so would score a 10.
